Terms of Service

By accessing or using ShipRank ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service. These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access the Service.

ShipRank is a public GitHub contribution leaderboard that analyzes publicly available GitHub activity and calculates an "ShipRank Score" based on commits, pull requests, issues, and other public contributions. The Service ranks developers based on their public activity and provides profiles that developers can share.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

To access certain features, you must connect a GitHub account via OAuth. By connecting your GitHub account, you represent that you are the authorized owner of that account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under it.

You may disconnect your GitHub account at any time from your dashboard. Upon request, we will delete your profile data within 30 days.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any regulations
• Attempt to manipulate your ShipRank Score through artificial means (e.g., automated commits, bots)
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service in a way that burdens our infrastructure
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in our Privacy Policy.

ShipRank accesses only publicly available GitHub data through the GitHub API and OAuth. We do not access private repositories, private activity, or any data not explicitly marked public on your GitHub profile. Your GitHub credentials are never stored by ShipRank.

Your use of GitHub through the Service is subject to GitHub's Terms of Service.

ShipRank Scores are calculated using our proprietary algorithm based on public GitHub activity. Scores and rankings are provided for informational purposes only. We make no warranties about the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of these scores.

Rankings change frequently as developers contribute and as our algorithm evolves. A high or low ranking does not constitute an endorsement or criticism of any developer's skills or abilities.

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ShipRank and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

Your public GitHub data remains your property. By connecting your account, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to display your public contribution data as part of the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUTCODE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
